My Platform that I will be representing as a finalist in the Miss Teen Canada pageant will be the Ronald McDonald houses across Canada. The Ronald McDonald house also known as “The House That Love Built” is about keeping families together during medical and emotional traumas. Ronald McDonald houses provide a home away from home and works to support families that have sick children in the hospital. A child’s illness can put a terrible strain on a family both emotionally and finically, but the Ronald McDonald house can ease the burden by offering accommodations. When a child is sick and they are forced to live in a hospital- all they need is their families and the Ronald McDonald houses provide this to them.
I chose this platform because I believe that is one of the most important societies that needs to be well known and brought to peoples attention. The Ronald McDonald house is important to me because many of my families and friends have stayed in the house various times and it has meant a great deal to them. Without the house, many families would struggle to get by and suffer by not being there for their child.
As the title holder of Miss Teenage Canada, I would proudly promote this platform by raising funds as well as awareness to this cause. As the title holder, I would like to visit the Ronald McDonald houses of Saskatchewan/Canada and provide inspiration. I am proud to say that I have been promoting, planning and will be participating in the Red Shoe Walk this September that is taking place in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
