I am so unbelievably grateful to be living in such an extraordinary country such as Canada and having the pleasure of representing this country in the Miss Teen Canada peageant this year. Canada is a nation full of many amazing things. Canada has so much to offer the world, such as beauty, peace, talent, prosperity and of course hockey and maple syrup.

Canada is made up of many stereotypes that make up the country itself for example, hockey. Hockey is Canada’s national sport and expresses Canada as a country.
Hockey is the thing that brings all Canadians together to celebrate the one sport they all love. On another note, maple syrup is another reason why Canada is such a great country… I mean who doesn’t like syrup? Us Canadians put that stuff on everything and I mean everything! You can not go into any Canadians cupboard and not find maple syrup in it because every Canadian has at least one bottle stashed in there.

Canada is made up of 10 provinces and 3 territories and it is easy to pinpoint each of the beautiful things each of them has to offer. For example, British Columbia and the beautiful blue rockies surrounding the clouds. Saskatchewan, and the lands that go on forever under the dancing sky. Ontario, and their amazing natural wonder of Niagara Falls.

Canada is a country full of peace. We are one of the only countries that do not have to worry about much war and violence. Studies show that Canada is one of the safest countries to live in being that there is no war.

Canada is a country full of many nationalities and is very multicultural. The idea of multiculturalism is that all citizens are equal. All the different cultures of Canada are free to express their own opinion, believe in the faith they want to, and act however they want. No cultures or individuals in Canada are looked down upon or judged because of what they simply believe in. Canada is a very accepting country in these ways.

The Charter of Rights and Freedom’s was the first part of the Constitution Act of 1982 developed in Canada and is one of the main reasons why Canada is such an amazing country. The Charter of Right’s and Freedoms is what made Canada so strong. As John G. Diefenbaker once said, “I am a Canadian, a free Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship God in my own way, free to stand for what I think is right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and for all mankind.”

Love,
